Bills are due on the 10th with late fees applying after the 21st. Cash is accepted in person only. Check or money orders may be mailed (PO Box 176) or placed in the drobox at city hall. Electronic payment is also accepted below. If you have online banking, your bank will typically have a bill pay option as well, which is free for you to use.
Water meters are read on/around the 15th each month.
Water bill min is $15.68 for the first 1000gallons. Increased by $6.25 for every thousand gallons after.
Sewer service is $34 minimum per month and adjusts based on water usage.
Buildings or homes with no water service AND no occupants pay a minimum half rate of $17.50 for sewer.
$18.60 is applied to each utility bill for trash service. Businesses are allowed to have a dumpster for $40 each month.
A $4 meter charge is attached to each bill which has a water meter reading
Water Excise Tax at 6% is calculated on each bill as well. A minimum total bill for water, sewer, and trash is $73.22.
A family using 4000 gallons each month is about average for water usage, where $100 a month would be a reasonable budget for the total bill. If your usage goes above 7000 gallons, you may need to check for a running toilet or leak somewhere. If usage is known to be very high, it is guaranteed to be the homeowner's responsibility to fix a leak/break. This is because all the water lines after the meter are privately owned. The City is responsible for the main lines to each resident's curb stop. Some home insurance may cover these types of repairs so check on that if it applies to you.
